Gian Luigi Lenzi
Gian Luigi inherited Fattoria di Petroio from his grandfather Luigi Pallini in 1961 and managed the property himself from 1980 till 2009.
He received his degree in Medicine from the Scuola Normale di Pisa in 1967, is full Professor of Neurology since 1985, head of Neurology A at the Policlinic Umberto I° and teaches Neurology at the University La Sapienza in Rome. He is active internationally as Vice President of EFNS (European Federation of Neurological Sciences) and since 2007 a member of the Consiglio Superiore di Sanità in Italy.
Petroio of today owes him a great deal; for his efforts and constant dedication to its revaluation, and restructuring, for becoming the ‘Focal Point’ for the extended Lenzi/Mangini family; for its enological renewal including the wines and cellars.
Passionate for all things “beautiful”, from singing in chorus with friends, to grilling the perfect Florentine steak, from animated joke telling to reciting original poetry, from modest tennis games to amateur guitar player.

Pamela Mangini Lenzi
Pamela was born in Seattle (USA) and arrived in Florence in 1965 to continue her studies in Italian language but also to find the roots of her beloved Italian grandparents. She immediately fell in love with Tuscany and consequently a Tuscan and chose to remain and make Italy her permanent home. She met Gian Luigi and Petroio in 1980 and knew that she had finally found what she was looking for.
From that moment she dedicated herself completely to both. Her pragmatic approach to life, and the philosophy, “learn as you go” combined with her open, hospitable nature, were of great importance in the direction and development of the actual property.
With the same spirit she has cared for her Tuscan family and is proud and grateful for the results: a family united by love with a passion for high quality in all things but especially wine and olive oil.

Diana Lenzi
Diana was born in Rome and is the daughter of Pamela and Gian Luigi. She graduated from the Liceo Classico and then received her degree in Political Sciences from the University of Rome “La Sapienza”. Just after graduation she made the decision to follow her true passion in life and signed up for and graduated from Chef’s School with the Gambero Rosso in Rome.
After a few years of chefing in various restaurants in Rome, for love and necessity, she took over the management of Fatoria di Petroio in 2008. Following her mother’s motto: “learn as you go” she threw herself heart and soul into the business of running a Wine Estate.
She follows and directs, with great passion and energy, all phases of the production both commercially and promotionally, in the vineyards and the cellars.
She belongs to the organization Women in Wine and Young Agricultural Entrepreneurs (ANGA) working diligently to bring Petroio to even higher levels of excellence while ever respecting its history and traditions.
